Jeremy Elder was appointed deputy director - industries in January of 2016. His responsibilities include the management of Cornhusker State Industries (CSI), Federal Surplus Property (FSP) and the NDCS Engineering division.

CSI builds a wide variety of products and provides value-added services for eligible customers. Elder has enjoyed redefining CSI’s true product as the men and women reentering society, prepared by their experience at CSI to successfully engage in the workforce. FSP issues federal property to eligible customers greatly extending the resources available to Nebraska state and local government entities. NDCS Engineering develops and maintains the facilities of NDCS.

Elder began working at NDCS in 2003 as a CSI Manufacturing Engineer. He has held numerous correctional industry positions up to his current appointment. He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, earning degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Master of Business Administration. He started his career as a Project Engineer at Baldwin Filters in Kearney, Nebraska.
