Garden thrives at CCCO

The garden at the Community Corrections Center – Omaha (CCCO) has been flourishing this year, thanks to good weather and the men living at CCCO who tend to it. They planted a wide variety of produce including: cucumbers, zucchini, squash, watermelon, cantaloupe, green beans, pole beans, radishes, six varieties of tomatoes, sweet to hot peppers, red, white and yellow onions, garlic, and cilantro. The garden is lined with marigolds to help keep out bugs and attract pollinators. As the garden is producing more than can be readily used at CCCO, the harvest is shared with Omaha Correctional Center and the Nebraska Correctional Youth Facility.
