The 2019 Annual Correctional Peace Officers Memorial was held in Louisville, KY. Members of the NDCS Honor Guard team accepted a lifetime membership award in recognition for the $5000 donation they made last year. This year’s award goes to the Lincoln Correctional Center in memory of Warden Fred Britten. The honor guard team is proud to announce that because of the staff support with the online shirt sales, golf scrambles, pancake feeds, and several restaurant fundraisers, they were able to donate another $5000 this year. As a result, the teammates at the Nebraska Correctional Center for Women will be awarded lifetime membership and will receive the award plaque in Bloomington Minnesota in June 2020. An additional $200 was donated to the CPOF Kids Room. The CPOF Kids Room funds children of fallen correctional staff through college scholarships and supporting fun activities during the CPOF memorial week.
