Missing inmate returns to correctional facility

July 8, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L) has returned. Rebecca Johnson #392615 came back to the facility on her own this afternoon. Earlier today, she failed to report to her work assignment in the community and was reported missing to law enforcement.

Inmate missing from community correctional facility

July 8, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Authorities have been notified about an inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L). Rebecca Johnson #392615 failed to report to her work assignment in the community today.

TSCI inmate death

July 6, 2022 (Tecumseh, Neb.) – Robert Mahler #75044, age 65, died today at Johnson County Hospital. He was incarcerated at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI). Mahler was serving a sentence of 50 to 81 years on charges out of Dixon County that included two counts of motor vehicle homicide and second offense driving under the influence (DUI).

NSP inmate death

July 6, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Charles Kays #73780, age 81, died on July 5, 2022 at the Nebraska State Penitentiary. His sentence began on June 15, 2011. Kays was serving a sentence of 16 years and eight months to 20 years on charges out of Douglas County that included first degree sexual assault on a child and two counts of third degree sexual assault on a child.

Missing inmate arrested in Iowa

July 6, 2022 (Omaha, Neb.) – An inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center – Omaha (CCC-O) has been arrested by the Iowa State Patrol. Deonte Hill #210844 was taken into custody on Sunday, July 3, 2022. He left CCC-O on March 21, 2022.

Hill started his sentence December 19, 2019. He was sentenced to four to eight years on a charge of robbery out of Douglas County. He has a tentative release date of August 2, 2023.

Missing inmate arrested after being spotted by NDCS staff member

July 6, 2022 (Omaha, Neb.) – An inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center – Omaha (CCC-O) has been arrested by the Omaha Police Department. John Strickland #212451 was spotted this morning by a staff person from the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) in the area of 16th and Farnam Street in Omaha. July 4, 2022 (Omaha, Neb.) – Authorities have been notified about an inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center – Omaha (CCC-O). John Strickland #212451 left the facility today without authorization. He removed the electronic monitoring device he was wearing in the area of 42nd and Cuming in Omaha.

July 2, 2022 (Omaha, Neb.) – James Trebilcock #210697, age 72, died this morning at an Omaha hospital. He was incarcerated at the Omaha Correctional Center (OCC). Trebilcock’s sentence started November 25, 2019. He was serving a 12 to 20 year sentence for third degree sexual assault of a child and attempted first degree sexual assault out of Douglas County.
