June 1, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Authorities have been notified about an inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L). James Crihfield #213470 was granted permission for a personal furlough to go to a local hospital today. An alert indicated he removed the electronic monitoring device he was wearing.

Crihfield started his sentence on July 14, 2021. He was sentenced to three years and seven months on multiple charges of theft by deception and second degree...Read more

June 1, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Today, Scott R. Frakes, director of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS), announced that the Nebraska State Penitentiary (NSP) will return to a normal operational schedule on July 18, 2022. The facility has been on a modified, seven-day, 12-hour operational schedule since October 2019, when an emergency staffing declaration was made.

May 23, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Russell Harms #54348, age 64, died this morning at the Reception and Treatment Center (RTC). His sentence started October 11, 2000. Harms was serving a life sentence on charges of first degree murder and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony out of Nemaha County.

May 4, 2022 (Omaha, Neb.) – An inmate who went missing from the Community Corrections Center – Omaha (CCC-O) has been returned to the custody of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS). Officers with the Omaha Police Department took Jonathan Walker-Hernandez #213336 into custody shortly after 6:00 p.m. yesterday at North 11th Street and Avenue H East in Omaha. May 3, 2022 (Omaha, Neb.) – Authorities have been notified about an inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center – Omaha (CCC-O). Jonathan Walker-Hernandez #213336 left his job in the community earlier this afternoon and did not return to the facility as scheduled.

Walker-Hernandez started his sentence June 14, 2021. He was sentenced to two to three years on a charge out of Douglas County for possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person. He has a parole eligibility...Read more

April 19, 2022 (Omaha, NE.) – An inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center – Omaha (CCC-O) has been arrested by the Omaha Police Department. Brandon Bridgeford #74614 was taken into custody on Friday, April 15, 2022 at 36th and L Street. He has been charged with flight to avoid arrest and theft of a stolen vehicle.

April 13, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Nikki Peterson (32), a unit administrator at the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L), was arrested today by the Nebraska State Patrol for unauthorized communication with a committed offender (Neb. Rev. Stat. §83-417) and sexual abuse of an inmate (Neb. Rev. Stat. §28-322.01). Both are felony offenses.
