May 17, 2021 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Today, Director Scott R. Frakes announced that a staff member with the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) is positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19). That person is employed at the Central Office. The staff member is self-isolating at home.

May 17, 2021 (Lincoln, Neb.) – The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) was well-represented at a ceremony for recipients of the annual State of Nebraska Excellence in Leadership awards. Eighteen individuals received a desk plaque and a Nebraska Navy admiralship from Governor Pete Ricketts on Friday, May 14, 2021. May 12, 2021 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Authorities have been notified about an inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L). Armando Lerma #211543 did not return to the facility following his work assignment this evening.

Lerma started his sentence on May 20, 2020. He was sentenced to three years for drug related charges out of Gage County (marijuana and methamphetamine) as well as operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest. Lerma has a tentative release date of...Read more

May 12, 2021 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Nicole Schwab, (38), a food service specialist at the Lincoln Correctional Center (LCC) was arrested by the Nebraska State Patrol today for unauthorized communication with a prisoner (Neb. Rev. Stat. §83-417).

Schwab has been employed by the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) since June 1, 2020. This is the only facility where she has worked. Schwab resigned her position with the agency.

May 5, 2021 (Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate who failed to return to the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln last month has been arrested by officers with the Omaha Police Department. Raymond Jimenez #211661was taken into custody yesterday and has since been transferred to the Lancaster County jail.

Jimenez was supposed to return to the facility after going to a job service in downtown Lincoln on April 7. He is now facing a charge of escape.

May 3, 2021 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Officers with the Omaha Police Department arrested two inmates who went missing from the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L) on April 29, 2021. Clifford Brown #88039 and Jacob Roeder #210394 left the facility together that morning. They were both taken into custody on May 2, 2021 near 16th and Carter Boulevard in Omaha.

May 1, 2021 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Authorities have been notified about an inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L). Michael Simmons #211242 did not return to the facility this evening after his work shift.

Simmons started his sentence on February 24, 2020. He was sentenced to five years and has a tentative release date of January 7, 2022. Simmons was convicted of operating a motor vehicle during revocation in Saunders County and third degree...Read more
