NDCS prepares for visits to resume; online forms now available

Inmate visitation to resume at NDCS

June 25, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) Men and women living in the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) will soon be able to resume visits with friends and family members. Director Scott R. Frakes announced the visitation program will restart in all facilities the week of July 13.

NDCS inmate tests positive for COVID-19

June 21, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Today, Director Scott R. Frakes, Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) announced that an inmate assigned to the Nebraska State Penitentiary (NSP) has tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19). To date, a total of eight inmates in NDCS have tested positive for COVID-19.

TSCI inmate death

June 18, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Randy Harms #67534, age 61, died at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI) just before 4:00 a.m. today. He was serving 45- to 60-years for convictions out of Custer County that included attempted first degree murder and use of a firearm to commit a felony. Harms’ sentence started on March 20, 2008.

No positive results among recently tested NDCS inmates

NDCS staff member positive for COVID-19

June 15, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Today, Director Scott R. Frakes announced that a staff member with the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) is positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19). Assault at LCC sends inmate to hospital

June 10, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb) – An inmate at the Lincoln Correctional Center (LCC) went to the hospital this afternoon for the treatment of serious* injuries resulting from an assault by another inmate. The assault happened in an outside yard, shortly before 1 p.m.
