NDCS inmate dies

March 15, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) – A 53-year old inmate at the Diagnostic and Evaluation Center (DEC) was taken to the hospital and declared deceased shortly before 8:00 a.m. after being found unresponsive by facility staff this morning.

Inmate missing from community correctional facility

March 13, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) -- Authorities have been notified about an inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center-Lincoln (CCC-L). Gabriel Magana-Cordova was found to be missing shortly after count was conducted at the facility this morning. Transaction records indicate that he withdrew money from an ATM machine a few hours earlier.

NDCS will implement questionnaire for facility entry

March 12, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) – People entering the 10 facilities operated by the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) will be asked to answer a series of questions to help identify those who have a higher chance of transmitting the coronavirus (COVID-19). NDCS utilizes defense strategy against coronavirus

March 10, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) -- Director Scott R. Frakes says the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) will utilize a “defend in place” strategy, as preparations are made to combat the coronavirus. Inmate dies at TSCI

March 6, 2020 (Lincoln, NE) – Gary Landanger #82717, age 72, died shortly after 4:00 a.m. at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI). His sentence started on September 2, 2015. Landanger was serving a four to seven year sentence out of Wayne County for possession of child pornography and visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct.

Inmates to receive notice of record adjustments

March 5, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Nearly 140 inmates in the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) will receive notice of updates to their institutional records to reflect disciplinary sanctions that were previously ordered but not applied. NDCS employee arrested

March 4, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Ashlee Yeackley (26), a food service worker at the Nebraska State Penitentiary (NSP), was arrested today by the Nebraska State Patrol for unauthorized communication with a prisoner (Neb. Rev. Stat. 83-417). She was booked into the Lancaster County Jail.

Inmate dies at hospital

March 3, 2020 (Tecumseh, Neb.) – An inmate from the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI) died at a hospital in Lincoln shortly before 7:00 p.m. on March 2, 2020.
