August 1, 2019 (Lincoln, Neb.) An inmate who failed to return to the Community Corrections Center-Lincoln (CCC-L) earlier this week is now back in custody. Authorities say Antwon Williams #78187 turned himself in this morning. He left the facility for work on July 29, 2019 and did not come back following his scheduled shift. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

Williams was returned to the Diagnostic and Evaluation Center (DEC). He has been cited for escape.

New warden appointed at NDCS

July 29, 2019 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Today, Director Scott R. Frakes announced the appointment of Todd Wasmer as the new warden for the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI). Wasmer will assume his new duties on August 5, 2019. He replaces Brad Hansen, who is retiring after 42 years with the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS).

NDCS community corrections inmate missing

July 29, 2019 (Lincoln, Neb.) Authorities have been notified about an inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center-Lincoln (CCC-L). Antwon Williams #78187 did not return to the facility this morning from his place of work.

CCC-L is one of two community custody facilities operated by NDCS. Community custody is the lowest custody level and the least restrictive facility....Read more

NDCS inmate found deceased in Lincoln hotel July 27, 2019 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Craig Haynes (49), #82305 was found deceased this afternoon in the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel at 808 R Street in Lincoln. Haynes, an inmate at the Community Correctional Center-Lincoln (CCC-L), was employed at the hotel. He was assigned there as part of a work release program.

Haynes was sentenced 10- to 12- years out of Lancaster County for driving under the influence, operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest, false reporting, 3rd degree assault and making terroristic threats. He had a parole hearing set for January of 2020 and a tentative...Read more

NSP staff members injured in assault

July 18, 2019 (Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate assaulted two staff members at the Nebraska State Penitentiary on Wednesday, July 17, 2019. One staff member sustained a serious injury* including a cut that needed a topical adhesive and bruising. The second staff member sustained bruising.

Missing CCCL inmate arrested

July 15, 2019 (Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate who left the Community Corrections Center-Lincoln (CCC-L) has been arrested by the Hastings Police Department. Anthony Mattison (30), #84578 was reported missing after leaving the facility on June 29, 2019.

LCC staff members injured in separate assaults

July 10, 2019 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Two staff members were injured at the Lincoln Correctional Center (LCC) on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 as a result of two separate assaults. Both of those incidents resulted in serious* injuries.

July 9, 2019 (Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate who left the Community Corrections Center-Lincoln (CCC-L) this morning has been arrested by the Nebraska State Patrol. William Mathes #87946 was reported missing when he did not appear at his place of work. He was apprehended in Lincoln, NE.
