NDCS teammate honored for showing leadership at facility

Lindsay Carroll has worked at the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) for six years. She started as an officer. Since then, she's been promoted to corporal, case worker and now, is a case manager at Community Correctional Center - Omaha.

Carroll received the 2019 Supervisor/Manager of the Year award from NDCS. She was nominated for her ability to manage all of her case management responsibilities along with facilitating four Case Management Academies during the past year to train and develop unit staff across the agency. She also made significant improvements to the facility’s training process to ensure teammates were trained well and reports were filled out within the appropriate time frame.

“I was really surprised," said CCCO Case Manager Carroll. "It’s my first year as a case manager. I wouldn’t have received this award without the people I work with. They help me be better.”

She says she doesn’t have the perfect solution to being a great leader, but she does try to stay grounded. “I remember to remain humble and open-minded,” said Carroll.
