OCC Intentional Peer Support Graduation

OCC Intentional Peer Support Graduation

Congratulations to these 14 men at the Omaha Correctional Center (OCC) for graduating from the Intentional Peer Support (IPS) program through a partnership with the Mental Health Association of Nebraska (MHA-NE). IPS helps individuals recover from mental illness, addiction or trauma with the assistance of someone who has similar life experiences. Through training with MHA-NE staff, these men learned to see things from new angles, develop greater awareness of personal and relational patterns and support and challenge each other.

Prior to the graduation ceremony, the men celebrated with a BBQ-catered dinner.

Through their hard work, the skills learned in this program will help these men in their future success and empower them to have a positive impact on their environment. The department is proud of their dedication to bettering themselves through programming. Congratulations!
