Eleven Nebraska Department of Correctional Services teammates graduated from our Emergency Preparedness Instructor five week course today.

Individuals from eight different facilities now have the proper training to educate other staff about preventing emergencies from happening and more.

"I thought I knew a lot about emergency preparedness, but going through this class has been humbling and taught me a lot," said Ryan Gibreal.

Every 2 seconds, someone is in need of a blood donation.

By the time it takes someone to read this post, more than thirty people will be in need of blood.

The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services is partnering with the Nebraska Community Blood Bank to encourage employees of NDCS to give blood on March 18th, 2019.

The event will be held at the Lincoln Regional Center from 1:00 to 4:30 PM.

Blood supplies are critically low due to the recent winter weather, according to the Nebraska Community Blood Bank.

Friends, families, and colleagues gathered around the Nebraska Staff Training Academy on Tuesday, March 5th, 2019 to celebrate pre-service class 119’s completion of their six week training.

The graduating class was filled with diverse fields from Corporals and Caseworkers to Registered Nurses and Accounting Clerks.

Class 119 was lead by training instructors M. Bean and G. Cook.

This group of new employees will join the growing ranks of NDCS personnel to continue to help uphold the department’s mission: Keep people safe.
