Inmate Dies at TSCI - Believed to be Natural Causes

January 23, 2017 (TECUMSEH) – Floyd Derry (78), inmate # 46237, died on January 21, 2017, at approximately 5:20 p.m. at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution.

Mr. Derry had been incarcerated November 22, 1994, and was serving a sentence of 48 years to Life for 2nd degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony out of Deuel County.

January 19, 2017 (Lincoln, Neb.) – The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) has developed and launched a leadership academy to better prepare staff members to lead their teams and to aid in succession planning; January 13, 2017 marked the first graduation.
