May 16, 2019 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Walter Bradford (61), #35401 died at 12:12 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the Diagnostic and Evaluation Center (DEC). His sentence began on December 12, 1983. Bradford was serving a life sentence for first degree murder from Lancaster County.

While the cause of death has not been determined, Bradford was being treated for a medical condition. As is the case whenever an inmate dies in the custody of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services, a grand jury will conduct an investigation.
