NDCS Team Member Spotlight:

Food Service Specialist Martin Puchalla was selected as a recipient of the 2020 Proficiency Award for the Administrative Services Division at the Nebraska State Penitentiary (NSP). Beginning his career in 2009, Puchalla has always shown a strong work ethic. During 2020, he stepped up and worked multiple shifts, ensuring that high quality meals left the kitchen and met the needs of the incarcerated population. He went above and beyond showing his commitment to his team and NSP by performing his duties to a high standard.

By embodying the NDCS values of compassion, excellence, growth, integrity and respect, Puchalla, is a great role model for others to look up to. His professionalism and teamwork make him an excellent representative for NSP and the department.
