Kitchen workers enhance skills and food safety

Workers in the Work Ethic Camp (WEC) kitchen recently completed a four-hour ServSafe Food Handler program, the second level of the National Restaurant Association Food Safety Program. Food Service Director Clarice Shields provided the men several opportunities throughout the year to complete the program facilitated by UNL Extension Educators Nancy Frecks and Andrea Nisley. Shields was impressed by all the hard work put in by everyone who signed up and took advantage of the opportunity to improve their skills, knowledge and personal growth, as well as enhancing food safety at the facility. Goslings hatch at TSCI

Just in time to celebrate Earth Day, teammates at TSCI are being greeted by some new goslings. “The mother and father have been coming here for years. It’s so neat to watch them sitting the nest each year then seeing the babies! CSI workers grateful to contribute to prevention efforts against COVID-19

Cornhusker State Industries employs incarcerated individuals at five NDCS facilities to help prepare them for successful reentry back into the community. Humor relieves stress amid COVID-19

Teammates and residents at the Community Correctional Center – Lincoln (CCCL) were treated to a little levity earlier this week thanks to Unit Case Manager Watt. He embraced the COVID-19 situation as best he could and came to work sporting matching pants and face mask.
