Sixteen participants from the Work Ethic Camp completed a rigorous 17-week Getting It Right program this fall. Getting It Right is an evidence-based program focused on reentry-specific strategies to support individuals as they prepare to leave the criminal justice system and successfully reintegrate into the community.

After completing this program, these participants have additional tools to help them be successful during their transition to a community corrections center or reentry to the community. The commitment and work these men put into their future success was evident throughout the program!

Leadership Academy is not only a way for leaders to learn valuable tools, it’s also a chance to meet and collaborate with teammates from facilities across NDCS!

This cohort of NDCS teammates spent a week together walking through a variety of exercises and discussions aimed to help them unlock their leadership potential. The Nebraska State Penitentiary (NSP) recently welcomed Devin Espinoza to their team as a unit manager! Espinoza has been with NDCS for approximately two years and has prior corrections and military experience. As he is transitioning into his new role, Espinoza has noticed staff being very welcoming and helpful. Outside of work, he enjoys coaching sports and collecting Pokémon cards with his family.
