TSCI cohort completes Intentional Peer Support training

These men join a group of more than a 100 individuals at NDCS facilities who have made the choice to become Intentional Peer Support (IPS) specialists — making a positive difference in the lives of those around them every day.

Through a partnership with the Mental Health Association of Nebraska, they completed extensive training at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution to be equipped to walk alongside their peers in a way that enriches both individuals.

IPS specialists are paired with individuals who have similar experiences as a way to tackle issues related to mental health, addiction, trauma and other life challenges.
