We’re acknowledging two accolades for NCYF Warden Loretta Wells. Not only was she recently recognized as an outstanding leader for NDCS (as seen in this photo), but last month she received the 2021 Spirit of Excellence Award from the African American Correctional Officer Association.

That award is presented to those who demonstrate excellence in leadership development while promoting diversity and inclusion in their workplace. Warden Wells started her career at NDCS in 1996 as a correctional officer. In addition to her prior custody roles, Warden Wells is also experienced in emergency preparedness, audits, investigations and more. She formerly served as deputy warden at OCC, before promoting to warden in 2019.
