NDCS teammates become Engagement Champions

Several Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) teammates attended Creating an Engaging Workplace for Champions at Gallup Inc. last week in Omaha to learn more about the 12 elements of engagement, how to coach managers and teams, and best practices to weave engagement into our everyday processes.

Supervisory Sgt. Dylan Eckery from the Nebraska State Penitentiary, Caseworker Anwar Eure from Omaha Correctional Center, Nikki Peterson in Human Resources, Corporal Anthony Stark from Lincoln Correctional Center, and Interpreter John Chesney from Tecumseh State Correctional Institution are now Engagement Champions whose forward-thinking attitudes and training will assist in continuing to build a positive culture at NDCS.

"While at this training, these NDCS teammates represented NDCS and their respected facilities with honor and pride," said Development and Engagement Coordinator Nikki Peterson. "I had the pleasure to witness these men display NDCS values of integrity, growth and excellence in every interaction with participants and the Gallup community. It was so beautiful to hear the passion in their voices as they talked about the work not only they do, but that our teammates in corrections do every day. I am so grateful to have had this opportunity to share this experience with these wonderful men. I am very confident they will share their experience with others when provided the opportunity."
