Several months of dedication culminated in an important achievement for these individuals at the Nebraska Correctional Center for Women and the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution. As graduates of the Thinking for a Change (T4C) program, they have developed social and problem-solving skills that will allow them to react to situations in positive ways.

Yesterday was a special day for Class 1122 – the newest NDCS teammates. During the graduation ceremony, they took the pledge and celebrated their accomplishments with family and friends. After six weeks of pre-service training, this group is ready to join their teammates at their respective facilities and support the NDCS mission to keep people safe.

This summer, Omaha Correctional Center (OCC) became the "home of tossed pancakes" with a visit by the Pancake Man! The event was sponsored by the OCC Employee Activity Committee (EAC), which hosts fun and engaging events for teammates at the facility.

One of the graduates of the Intentional Peer Support (IPS) program shared this message with a full room at the Nebraska Correctional Youth Facility IPS graduation ceremony this month.

Having fun on the field is always the priority, but this group is also keeping their eyes on the prize! Now in their second season, the Nebraska State Penitentiary (NSP) softball team is led by Corporal (Cpl.) Joshua Osienger.

This year, they took the mission of building relationships and team spirit among staff members to a new level, starting a coed team and a second men’s team. A total of 29 team members have joined the three leagues.
