We are recognizing NDCS teammates at the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L) for their service to CCC-L and the department. Case Manager Michael McCann was awarded Supervisor of the Quarter, Caseworker Desiree Wordlaw was named Employee of the Quarter and Case Manager Jacob Medley was recognized for five years of service with the department.

An incentive is defined as a reward that encourages a person to take a certain action, behave better or work hard.

Tier 4 Program participants at the Nebraska Correctional Center for Women (NCCW), recently enjoyed their well-earned reward. This quarter, their choice was to indulge in a special meal from Pizza Hut. Rewards are earned by the women when they engage in positive behaviors and follow the rules of the institution. Each tier consists of different goals and incentives. The focus is to help encourage personal accountability for choices and actions.

Wearing multiple hats isn’t anything new to Amy Willard, as she is the current warehouse technician, a field training officer and the public information officer for the Work Ethic Camp (WEC) in McCook, NE. Willard operates canteen, intake clothing issues, laundry, requests for new or replacement clothes, shipping and receiving, all which take place in the warehouse.

Willard has been with NDCS for over three years and enjoys working for the department. Watch the video to hear some of the opportunities she has received working for NDCS.

NDCS has many talented teammates. But in this case, it's the son of CCC-L Warden James Jansen who has a knack for craftsmanship.

Matthew Jansen presented TSCI Deputy Warden Scott Busboom and TSCI Major Boris Ilic with the hand-crafted bench he built for an Eagle Scout project. The bench features a nameplate dedicating it to the team members at TSCI. It's been placed in a prominent location to be enjoyed by all who enter the facility.
