Team members from the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L) and staff from the Mental Health Association of Nebraska (MHA-NE) visited the Nebraska Correctional Center for Women (NCCW) to give a presentation to approximately 70 incarcerated women about the transition process from NCCW to the CCC-L, where the population is allowed to participate in work opportunities in the community.

Team Member Spotlight:

Estela Finn serves a key role in NDCS as a translator. She provided much needed assistance to the state during the 2019 flooding and was honored this year for her “Excellence in Leadership” during COVID-19. Finn was instrumental in making sure the agency’s key messages were communicated to Spanish-speaking members of the incarcerated population. She has proven to be an invaluable resource to the department and to the state, lending her talents to situations that might otherwise require outside resources to address.
