Congratulations to the 12 men who recently graduated from Thinking for a Change (T4C) at the Nebraska State Penitentiary. The T4C Instructors were Program Manager Anne Hansen and Unit Manager Brandon Tan. Thinking for a Change is a high-level cognitive behavioral program developed by the National Institute of Corrections. The program uses role playing to concentrate on changing the criminogenic thinking of offenders and addresses attitudes, behavior, family, friends and aggression. #ThinkingforaChange #KeepPeopleSafeRead more

To Detail Corporal Joshua Decker, corrections is a big part of his own family. “It doesn’t matter if you work in security, the kitchen, maintenance, canteen or anywhere else in the facility. RISE kicked off its sixth cohort at the Nebraska State Penitentiary!

Incarcerated individuals take this program to prepare and train for each phase of reentering the community through intensive character development, employment readiness, job creation through entrepreneurship and case management.

RISE also assists in educating people in the community about the incarcerated population and can assist in connecting and healing families, create employment pathways and lower recidivism.
