Congratulations to these men at Lincoln Correctional Center. They recently graduated from the vocational program called Alpha. Alpha promotes daily living skills for offenders and encourages character development. All classes are biblically based and open to anyone, regardless of religious affiliation. The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services’ (NDCS) mission is ‘Keep people safe.’ Keeping people safe encompasses a variety of things including agency practices, team members and community partners in the form of volunteers. Congratulations to former NDCS Director Harold W. Clarke. This past week he was a co-recipient of the 2019 Clements Award.

The Clements award was created in 2015 to honor the memory of Tom Clements, Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Corrections, who was killed in the line of duty in March 2013.

Harold Clarke is currently director of the Virginia DOC. He worked at NDCS from 1974 to 2005 and served as director from 1990 to 2005.

Director Clarke received his award during the recent CLA All Directors Symposium in California.Read more

The Community Corrections Center - Lincoln's second annual adventure event for incarcerated individuals and their families took place at the Boy Scouts of America Cornhusker Council just outside of Lincoln. Families could reconnect through active and fun outdoor activities like rock climbing and shooting a bow and arrow.
