Women at the Nebraska Correctional Center for Women (NCCW) recently completed training with Dance To Be Free, an organization whose mission is to radically improve the lives of incarcerated women by addressing lifelong trauma through the healing power of dance.

In this transformative experience, these women learned the nuts and bolts of choreography, pro-social skills and group dynamics. The graduates left ready to make an impact on their environment and offer support to their peers.

Facility Maintenance Specialist Isaac Berry was a recipient of the Excellence in Mentoring Award at the NDCS Annual Awards. Berry is a Field Training Officer (FTO), assists new team members during FTO week and volunteers to instruct training during in-service at the Staff Training Academy.

Berry provides excellent peer-to-peer mentoring. New team members and veterans all trust Berry for his positivity, guidance and extensive knowledge.
